Automate email support by forwarding incoming mail to BotDesk.

What It Does

Email integration lets your AI agent respond to customer emails. Incoming mail is analyzed by AI, and a draft response is generated—you can review and send, or enable full automation.

How It Works

  1. BotDesk provides a unique email address (e.g., support@your-workspace.botdesk.ai)
  2. You set up email forwarding from your inbox to this address
  3. AI drafts a reply based on your knowledge base
  4. Reply is sent from your original email address (via SMTP)

Setup Steps

Step 1: Get Your BotDesk Address

  1. Go to Deploy → Email in BotDesk
  2. Note your unique forwarding address

Step 2: Configure Forwarding

In Gmail:

  1. Settings → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP
  2. Add a forwarding address → paste BotDesk address
  3. Verify the address (we'll auto-confirm)
  4. Select "Forward a copy"

Step 3: Configure SMTP (Optional)

To reply FROM your own address:

  1. Go to Settings → Email SMTP
  2. Enter your SMTP credentials (server, port, username, password)
  3. Test connection

Notes

  • For best results, keep email threads short (AI has context limits)
  • Enable "Draft Only" mode initially to review AI responses before going live
