Setup Steps
- Go to Deploy → Messenger in BotDesk
- Click "Login with Facebook"
- Select the Facebook Page you want to connect
- Grant the required permissions (pages_messaging)
- Done! Your AI agent is now active on Messenger
Required Permissions
BotDesk requests these Facebook permissions:
pages_messaging: Read and respond to messagespages_read_engagement: Access Page informationpages_manage_metadata: Manage webhook subscriptions
Testing
After connecting:
- Open a private/incognito browser window
- Go to your Facebook Page and click "Message"
- Send a test message
- Watch the AI respond in real-time
Notes
- Your Page must be published (not in draft mode)
- You need Admin or Editor role on the Page
- Messenger conversations appear in BotDesk's Activity log
