Setup Steps

  1. Go to Deploy → Messenger in BotDesk
  2. Click "Login with Facebook"
  3. Select the Facebook Page you want to connect
  4. Grant the required permissions (pages_messaging)
  5. Done! Your AI agent is now active on Messenger

Required Permissions

BotDesk requests these Facebook permissions:

  • pages_messaging: Read and respond to messages
  • pages_read_engagement: Access Page information
  • pages_manage_metadata: Manage webhook subscriptions

Testing

After connecting:

  1. Open a private/incognito browser window
  2. Go to your Facebook Page and click "Message"
  3. Send a test message
  4. Watch the AI respond in real-time

Notes

  • Your Page must be published (not in draft mode)
  • You need Admin or Editor role on the Page
  • Messenger conversations appear in BotDesk's Activity log
